A yellow alert is activated in Mexico City due to a forecast of high temperatures on May 8. Temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees are expected in 11 municipalities.

The forecast for tomorrow indicates that the most intense heat will be felt between 12:00 and 16:00 hours in Mexico City. A yellow alert for heat has been activated in various boroughs, including Azcapotzalco, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztacalco, Iztapalapa, Miguel Hidalgo, Tláhuac, Venustiano Carranza, and Xochimilco. In light of this situation, the city government has issued recommendations to protect the health of the population, such as using sunscreen, wearing light clothing, sunglasses, and a hat, as well as avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun and staying well hydrated.

In case of an emergency due to heat, residents of CDMX can contact 911, 55 5658 1111 for Locatel, or 55 5683 2222 for the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection. On the other hand, the National Meteorological Service has announced that the presence of an anticyclonic circulation will cause high temperatures in Mexico, with forecasts of between 30 and 45 degrees in at least 20 states of the country. Extreme temperatures will be recorded in different entities, so it is recommended to protect oneself with sunscreen and sunglasses in various regions.

High temperatures are expected to persist until Saturday, May 10, the day that Mother's Day is celebrated in Mexico. In view of this outlook, the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection of CDMX has activated the yellow alert, warning that areas of the Mexican capital will reach maximum temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees due to the heatwave. Authorities have issued a series of recommendations to avoid health complications due to high temperatures.
